Title Insurance Officer
Description PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 1.0 OUR BUSINESS 1.1 Ensure renewal and new business growth with insurers, preferably under the Bank’s agency scheme to achieve the sectional income and to minimize risks. 1.2 Supervise and manage insurance monthly reports effectively and efficiently. 1.3 To ensure that all policies are current and in the Bank’s custody during the loan term. 1.4 Liaise with other Centres and Branches for loan term compliance in respect to insurance requirements. 1.5 Monitor insurance market for competitive rates beneficial to the insured. 1.6 Attend and participate in management meetings for reporting and develop enhancements for the Centre as and when the need arises. 1.7 Delegate and monitor tasks issued to team members, and to keep abreast of the overall performance of the Centre. 1.8 Attend Insurance Agents’ meetings and trainings and conduct insurance trainings within the Bank. 1.9 Submit information papers and reports to superiors as and when requested. 2.0 OUR CUSTOMERS 2.1 Submit information papers and reports to superiors as and when requested. 2.2 Attend and achieve delivery services immediately to internal and external customers, to the Centres, and to the insurers/brokers to facilitate clearance of insurance and other insurance queries. 3.0 OUR PEOPLE 3.1 Encourage staff to up skill knowledge on insurance through provision of trainings. 3.2 Manage, supervise and coach staff within the section, ensuring that all processes are accurately executed. 3.3 Discuss and submit quarterly reviews of staff performance and develop improvements for succession plan. 3.4 Ensure that staffs are kept abreast of insurance compliance through the network. 3.5 Organize monthly meetings within the Centre to discuss work related issues and ensure that minutes are documented. 4.0 RISK AND COMPLIANCE 4.1 Ensure that loan terms are complied with throughout the loan term. 4.2 Ensure that the Centre’s records are compliance with statutory regulations and records maintained for inspection. 4.3 Any discrepancies within the loan conditions are to be noted and rectified by the Centres. 5.0 COMMUNICATION 5.1 The incumbent should be able to communicate in clear, concise language to all contact personnel. 6.0 INNOVATION & ENTREPRENEURSHIP 6.1 Be proactive and efficient in the execution of duties for the betterment of the Centre. 6.2 To encourage and participate in up skill of knowledge. 6.3 To lead staff by example.
Qualification A Degree in Accounting, Commerce, Economics or its equivalent from a recognized tertiary institution.
Experience A minimum of 5 years proven Insurance work experience in a commercial environment particularly in Commerce, Industry or Agriculture with accreditation from ANZIIF. Experience in lending operations will be an advantage. Must be able to demonstrate leadership, management, and personal relationship skills to ensure that the sectional objectives are achieved within the Bank’s plan.
