Title Manager Internal Audit
Description 1. Plan, organize and control the activities of the Internal Audit Department. 2. Review and develop audit strategies, objectives and procedures and review all internal audit working papers and reports. 3. Plans, directs, co-ordinates, monitors and supervises the activities of three audit officers. 4. Prepare Management Audit Reports and ensures that findings are actioned by the respective General Managers, to ensure alignment to policies and procedure and appropriately communicated to the network and the officers concerned. 5. Liaise with Management request assignments and actively pursue and carry out audits on difficult/specific areas. 6. Evaluates the type of audit undertaken by officers. Evaluates the parameters, that is; the scope, Objectives, time plan and the resources required to ensure successful completion of the audit. 7. Evaluates the audit findings (whether major or minor) prepared by officers and if necessary, amending the category of findings to reflect the level of risk and implications on the Bank. 8. Evaluates the audit findings in terms of the deviation from the internal controls set by Management, be it financial, operational, etc. 9. Through EXIT MEETING, in line with the audit report, discusses with Management on the weaknesses and deviations from internal controls and the recommendations to re-align and correct the weaknesses. 10. Provides objectives assurance that the major business risks are being managed appropriately. 11. Supports Management in terms of recommending changes to policies, procedures and internal control, etc. that arise from the audit reports or the Internal Audit Charter.
Qualification Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and Financial Management or a related field, and Professional certificate as a public accountant or internal auditor. A member of the Fiji Institute of Internal Auditors or a member of the Fiji institute of Accountants.
Experience - Extensive experience in auditing and a thorough understanding of business and accounting practices. - The individual should have a minimum of ten years’ experience, with some experience in auditing financial institutions. - Must have knowledge of other by-laws that affect the lending operations of the Bank, for example, Land transport Authority, Fisheries, etc. - Must have knowledge of other regulatory guidelines, for example, RBF, in terms of the provisioning guidelines of the Bank. - Must be computer-literate and be familiar with all the different computer systems of the Bank. - Must have strong communication skills and the ability to interact with all levels of management and employees. - Must be knowledgeable of all policies and procedures used by Management in terms of the relevant internal-controls.
