PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Prequalification and Application
• Ensure and enforce timeliness, integrity and accuracy of initial advice and documents acquired as dictated by Bank Policies and Procedures.
• Monitor and ensure BMS details are keyed in immediately on payment of application fees.
• Screen loan applications received with source documents and allocate to officers for processing.
• Ensure all initial relevant searches are completed before submission for appraisal.
• Ensure proper inspection and verification of project/collateral offered is carried out.
• Ensure any enquiry received (regardless of accepted/discourage) is properly registered and filed for reference in future.
2. Appraisal & Approval
• Ensure quality and growth of portfolio through sound credit assessments and lending decisions and recommend approval of applications outside discretion.
• Ensure application approvals are aligned to Bank’s Policies and Procedures, environmental sustainability, statutory requirements and economic growth.
• Ensure loan decisions are formalised within TAT and data accuracy on BMS
• Ensure loan letters prepared are aligned with the decision made.
• Ensure BMS details are keyed in immediately upon approval (interest, repayment, Flags, SME details, CRR, approval date and officer).
3. Documentation & Disbursement
• Ensure LOL is properly executed by client and acceptance keyed on BMS.
• Liaise with relevant stakeholders on validation of source documents/searches and submit same to legal for accurate documentation.
• Enforce the timely and proper preparation and execution of relevant documentation as per Bank Policy by relevant parties.
• Follow up with Legal and stakeholders on timely completion of stamping and registration of documents.
• Make final check on loan letters to ensure it is aligned to BMS details.
• Ensure full compliance to pre disbursement conditions and make recommendation for disbursement within appropriate discretionary authority.
4. Monitoring & Supervision
• Ensure loan disbursed is used for the purpose for which it was taken and that enterprise is properly established for profitable and sustained performance as per projections.
• Ensure appropriate advice and technical assistance is provided to borrower where needed should problems arise throughout the physical development of the project.
• Prioritize and plan supervision of accounts in order to direct a higher level of close inspection to those accounts or projects whose performance deviates from the anticipated path.
• Ensure loan accounts are reviewed and reported as per policy, identify appropriate action for early warning signal and provide recommendation for existence of project i.e. to restructure or rehabilitate.
• Ensure securities and insurance of assets are revalued, renewed and verified in a timely manner and BMS entries are completed on a timely and periodical basis.
5. Recovery
• Monitor and measure all loans prudently and implement vigilant arrears follow-up on repayments, reviews, rescheduling, BMS amendments and documentation.
• Undertake regular review of loan accounts under NPL and take corrective measures to upgrade accounts as per policy.
• Ensure all possible avenues are exhausted in recovery procedure before downgrading.
• Liaise with Legal and Asset Management Unit timely and vigorous recovery action once all avenues at Relationship & Sales Unit have been properly exhausted.

Qualification
|
A Degree in Banking/Accounting/Economics/Commerce or its equivalent from a recognized banking institution.
|
Experience
|
Shall have a minimum of five (5) years’ field experience of lending operations. and holds a valid driver’s license (automatic & manual)
|
