Title Treasury Officer
Description PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Assist Team Leader Treasury in managing of the Treasury operations such as but not limited to: • Analysis and computation of market interest rates • Preparation of documents required for sourcing funds, bank transfers and repayments of Bond Interest and Principal • Cost of funds computation • Computation of durated term of liabilities 2. Provide an analytical assessment of the financial markets, their movements and the impact these factors will make on the overall asset-liability of the bank. Draft quarterly Treasury report which part of the EXCO and board paper required from Finance. 3. Provide an assessment of the financial conditions of the liability and equity structure to the risk managers of the bank; EXCO. 4. Assist in managing the liquidity of the bank, its cash position and reserve position. 5. Has to tract the interest cost movement and liability movement of the bank with an emphasis on the overall cost of funds. Assess the implications of changes in the money market and its overall impact on the Bank’s Liabilities. 6. Market new term deposit clients and facilitate development of the term deposit facility. 7. Prepare Bank accounts balance report before 11.00am daily. It shall include details of unpresented cheques and receipts with relevant breakdowns. 8. Prepare cash flow report/projection on a monthly basis showing all inflows and commitments of the Bank. 9. Assist Team Leader Treasury and Manager Finance in review and recommending changes in accounting procedures, policies and systems to ensure efficiency and effectiveness. This also includes Bank’s Liquidity Risk Management policy and Term Deposit Software, policies and procedures. 10. Inter-relate with staff or personnel within the Finance Section to ensure an efficient and effective treasury management while maintaining a check-and-balance principle in the process. 11. Other duties that may from time-to-time be required by Manager Finance and GMFA.
Qualification A degree in Business, Accounting and Finance and/or Maths or Statistics
Experience At least 2 years’ experience in a similar environment. Other training qualifications in the area on Asset-Liability Management would be an advantage.
