Title Audit Officer
Description 1. The responsibilities include audits for: compliance; risk based; best practice; fraud and for both competitive and distinctive advantages in Operational, Financial and Strategic areas of the bank’s operations. Such scope is approved by the Board Audit Committee (BAC) via an Audit Plan that is based on the banks Strategic Plan. 2. The position, for each audit assignment, will prepare a Field Audit Plan, complete field audit, submit findings to the centre and analyse the response before draft report is submitted to Management, follow up with Audit to ensure resolutions are actioned and implemented. 3. The position through the reports to Manager Internal Audit (MIA), advises the CEO and BAC of the areas where internal controls are weak and where risks are considered high, and make recommendations for Management’s corrective and proactive action and BAC’s consideration. 4. The position shall have access to all bank records, documents, files, properties and personnel of FDB, as considered necessary to fulfil the specific objectives of the audit, not limited by the approved Audit programmes and the Audit Plan. 5. The position may carry out special reviews as advised by the Management and BAC through Manager- Internal Audit. 6. This position is guided by the relevant internal and external legislations, regulations, policies and procedures.
Qualification A degree in Accounting & Financial Management, or a related field. Professional certification as a Public Accountant or an Internal Auditor. A member of the Institute of Internal Auditors [Fiji Chapter] or a member of the Fiji Institute of Accountants
Experience At least 5 to 6 years’ experience in lending, both at Branch level and at Head Office. Have had sufficient work experience [either internal or external] such that the person can make adequate query of internal controls with the aim of improving the controls. Have the capacity to comprehend, analyse and apply a working knowledge of: the FDB Act; other Acts; Regulatory guidelines and by-laws that affect our business environment; and of policies and procedures of all profit and support centres of the bank, as and when confronted by the specific demands of the various audit assignments. Have strong written and verbal communication skills; strong analytical skills; and be able to make recommendations to improve the internal controls as well as strategize for sustained better practices. Ability to work with minimum supervision and ability to interact with all levels of Management and Employees. The officer will have the capacity to perform the duties of MIA when called upon and required to discharge in an acting capacity.
Salary $36,450 - $54,678
